So, I guess you haven't had a chance to get to one of those Internet cafes that are all over Europe yet, since we haven't heard about the standing ovations, bouquets thrown at the stage, lingerie thrown at the stage, and offers of marraige, even if it's just for the evening.

Reviews! Let's see some reviews!

If OT can't get to one of those internet cafe's he'll be going through BBB withdrawal symptoms. He's supposed to sing in Munich tomorrow morning. What if he's not having fun at all! Maybe they're being strict and using him as cheap labor like Bart Simpson at Kamp Krusty! We'll have to wait 'til he sends us a signal....

OT has a friend that he uses that way..his name is even "Roadie". Remember him? He posted a few times when OT was in the hospital.

OT sez the roadies eat better than the singers, so maybe he'll volunteer to be a roadie

We're not that boring. How many times did a platypus wander through our newsgroup when OT was around? And how many times since he's been gone?
So if you measure interest by number of platypus sightings, we're no more boring without him.

I never saw any internet cafes whilst on the road. I had so much fun and so little sleep!

SDCAE European tour 2003, July 21-22:

We flew out of San Diego for Dulles at 8am. At Dulles I followed Barfle's advice and a friend and I had a couple of Black & Tan's on tap at Old Dominican. Very tasty. We flew from Dulles to Frankfurt through the night, and I was able to sleep on the plane for a few hours as I had stayed up all night the night before (my tried and trusted method for figthing eastbound jet lag). From Frankfurt to Prague, and we landed there at about 9:30am their time. We were not to check in to the hotel until 3pm, so we had a walking tour of old Prague. We were all hot and tired, but it was worth it. This is a view of Prague Castle from the old town side of the Czech bridge over the Vltava (the Czechs are very sensitive about Smetana's work being popularly known as the Moldau): ;) ):

We saw this trio at the entrance to the presidential residence. They were very good, but the lead singer was better on his flute.

After the castle tour we had our first concert at the old St. Nicholas church in the old section of Prague. We had a full house and the concert went very well, especially as it was our first on the trip. We sang everything except Totus Tuus.

To be continued.....

July 23 continued....

After the concert we had more free time to explore and forage. A group of us wandered the old section for a while the crossed the Charles bridge. In the middle we came across this quintent playing Dixieland jazz:

After we crossed the bridge we found what would be just about the anti-McD's (for Annette's benefit). That's me with a wine glass stuck to my mouth:

And this was my dinner of venison:

Now I'm out of photos until tomorrow.

The dixieland quintet is a hoot! Notice: the trumpet player has eight - count 'em - eight mutes lined up and what does he have on his horn? A third sock! :D
