SDCAE European tour 2003, July 21-22:
We flew out of San Diego for Dulles at 8am. At Dulles I followed Barfle's advice and a friend and I had a couple of Black & Tan's on tap at Old Dominican. Very tasty. We flew from Dulles to Frankfurt through the night, and I was able to sleep on the plane for a few hours as I had stayed up all night the night before (my tried and trusted method for figthing eastbound jet lag). From Frankfurt to Prague, and we landed there at about 9:30am their time. We were not to check in to the hotel until 3pm, so we had a walking tour of old Prague. We were all hot and tired, but it was worth it. This is a view of Prague Castle from the old town side of the Czech bridge over the Vltava (the Czechs are very sensitive about Smetana's work being popularly known as the Moldau):

We saw this trio at the entrance to the presidential residence. They were very good, but the lead singer was better on his flute. <img src="http://www.operatenor.100megs24.com/Trio.jpg" alt=" - " />
After the castle tour we had our first concert at the old St. Nicholas church in the old section of Prague. We had a full house and the concert went very well, especially as it was our first on the trip. We sang everything except Totus Tuus.
To be continued.....
