That's because the conductor is supposed to pay attention to the tenor! :p

Hi OT. I enjoyed your picture in St Mark's Square. I've only seen it (and the Rialto bridge) in paintings. The views in paintings are magnificent, and set much father back from the cathedral. The clothing portrayed is hardly ever so up-to-date. :)

Thanks, Shos. I wanted to get as much detail as possible, so I shot as close as I could and still get the entire facade in the shot. I shrunk the photo to fit on the post, but full size it came out very well, and the detail is clear.

The troll and Lula have been spending an inordinate amount of time together since I got back....

Wait, maybe I should post that on the "Singles" thread....

OT,

That parting shot of Venice is really beautiful.
I hope you don't mind, but I saved it to my PC and set it as the Windows desktop background.

I'm flattered. If you'd like a better quality copy of it(that goes for anyone else as well. not that you're not special, Tim.....oh, forget it), -email me at operatenor@beethoven.com, & I'll send the HQ version.

I'd use it for my desktop, but I'm debating putting up something a little more personal <sigh>.

OT,

If it isn't too impolite to ask, how did your auditions go? It was with the SD Opera? I am not certain and I am too lazy to flip back through threads.

Hi Mary,

I'm flattered you should ask. I haven't auditioned yet. The regular auditions were held while I was gone, and the chorus master told me to let him know when I was back in town & we would schedule one then. I caught a bug on the flight back and have been treating it, so I've put off calling until I'm well enough to do it. I feel a lot more confodent going into it this time than the past couple of years, though. I'm singing better, and with the studies I don't have as much fear. The past couple of auditions were lousy, IMO, and they still gave me good contracts (they know how I work on the job & like it), and I know I'll do better this year, even if it's not perfect.

Hi Mary & E,

Thanks for the well wishes. When I do audition, I'll let you know how I think it came out, but I don't get official results & contract(s) for several weeks afterward. :)

you know, i have friends in SD (ok, how would you know that...)

the point is, if you get a good part, i just might be willing to hop on a jet blue flight and catch a performance...

keep us all posted

lots of hot tea, honey and lemon - fixes all soprano and alto vocal ailments - i am sure it will help cure a tenor too ;)

More likely he froze his tonsils on all that Gelato. ;) [/b][/quote]Are you really sure that there is anything that can cure a tenor???

LOL donna!

OT, I was thinking last night (REALLY hard too, damn brain never stops working! Wish it would break down for a little while! :p ) about pitch and the voice.
How do you know if you on the right pitch when you sing?
Do you sing the note then listen and figure out if its sharp or flat?
Do you memorize how every notes sounds?
etc.

Too bad you're too young to drink.
A couple of shots would cure that desire to figure stuff like this out. Just go to bed !!
