I HAD SEE THAT THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER BECOME THE USA ANTHEM IN 1931.
WHAT WAS THE USA NATIONAL ANTHEM BEFORE 1931 ?
SOME PEOPLE SAID THAT THE USA DO NOT HAVE A NATIONAL ANTHEM BEFORE SOME SAY THAT THE USA NATIONAL ANTHEM WAS MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE.

I think the USA did not have an official national anthem before 1931. the Star Spangled Banner had been the de facto national anthem. my country of thee I sing has never been a national anthem as far as I know. it is sung to the melody of God save the queen....

The Star Spangled Banner was written in 1812 by Francis Scott Key after The War against Great Britain.
What was the national anthem betbeen the 4 of july 1776 to the year 1812 ?
What song the citizens of the USA did sing in Nationals holidays.
If the Star Spangled Banner was popular why in 1916 the President Woodrow Wilson ordered played at military and naval only. and wasn't officially adopted by Congress as the national anthem until 1931.If the Usa did not have a national anthem before 1931 ?

personally, i cannot imagine not having a national anthem!

The Name of The Israel's National Anthem is The Hatikva(The Hope) It was written by Naftali Herz Imber (1856-1909), who moved to Palestine in 1882 from Galicia(in Poland). The melody was arranged by Samuel Cohen, an immigrant from Moldavia.
The anthem was written before that Israel became a State by The People's Counsel it became the National anthem .
The Chairman of The People Counsel was David Ben-Gurion the first Prime Minister of Israel.
Some People said that the melody of the Hatikva is similar to Smetana's "Moldau".
Hatikva is about “hope,” the undying hope of the Jewish people, through the long years of exile, that they would someday return to independence in their homeland.
We only sing one paragraprh of The Hatikva.

What Song did the People Sing in the Independence Day before 1931.

they probably sang the star spangled banner even before 1931, it just wasn't oficially recognized. I can't complain about you saying "the HaTikva" [the the hope] since I did the same yesterday with the Les Six [the the six]) lol.
HaTikva does sound a lot like the 2nd theme from the Moldau.

Hi Hernan. There certainly is a similarity between the melody of Hatikvah and the river theme from the Moldau, so much so that many people assume the tune was borrowed from Smetana. Do you know when Samuel Cohen came up with the melody?

Samuel Cohen came up with the melody in 1882 in the City of Rishon Le-Zion( in Israel).
Bedrich Smetana composed My Fatherland between 1869-1872 and first performed in 1881.
Others think that The HaTikva has the same melody of the Romanian Folk Song The Cart and The Bulls.

There is always hope to have Peace in Israel.
the problem is when will be peace.
Books were written about the issue so I can not write a salution in this little note but I can say that the Peace will be when the terrors attacks will be ended and israel will take some importants decisions.

Is Edwin Eugene Bagley famous in the usa like John Phillip Sousa ?
Anyone did hear the march The Pride of the White House by Karl Lenox ?

The name Bagley prompts only one title in my mind: The National Emblem March. Never heard of Karl Lenox. Where and when did you hear his march? Beethoven.com?
Sousa is far and away the most famous American (at least) writer of marches. The gap between him and whoever may be next is so great that it would be fair to say that person would be in 5th place, with 2nd, 3rd, 4th places left blank.

Personally, I can't stand Stars and Stripes Forever. I do like a few of Sousa's marches, but I don't share a claim I've heard from a friend that "Sousa is America's greatest composer".

I know that Sousa write The Waltz in Potomac but never heard The Waltz.

Hi Big. I have not heard the Horowitz transcription, and have no interest in hearing an artist try to spice up what sounds like trash to me. I'm obviously in the minority with S&SF, given its runaway popularity. I think the French had S&SF in mind when they invented the expression "Chacun a son gout" (chuckle ,chuckle --- hoping I spelled it right).
