Classical Guitar

Postby cutehottamale » Wed Apr 07, 2004 12:57 pm

I am wanting to get my husband a classical guitar cd and I don't even know where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which cd or artist might be best?

That Daniel Salazar guy plays good stuff - I like him better than Skanson. Also, if you go to the local music store the sales reps will bring you CDs to listen to (be warned; this can lead to large purchases.)

Also, if you go to you can read customer reviews of most of the music offered for sale.

Listen to and try the link to the iclassics website if you hear something you like.

There. I'm just full of ideas. Always willing to help somebody spend money :D

Best of John Williams. The guitarist, not the film score and conductor guy.

The Romeros are good. It's a father and 3 sons. They perform alone and together. Two of the Romeros perform an arrangement of the 12 Spanish Dances by Granados. I'd recommend that.

And also best of Albeniz.
But I'm not sure whether most of them are available.
