Names for Children and/or Pets (aka children)

"Cooter" was the name of the mechanic on "The Dukes of Hazzard" which was popular about the same time as "Hutch and Starsky."

We briefly had a cat we named Cooter. She was tortise-shell mottled black and orange (if that makes ANY sense). My wife thought the tortise-shell look was a good start on the name, and it turns out that a tortise is called a cooter in some hoots and hollers.

We got her from our Vet (same place we got Buzz) as an adult, and although she was a very good people-cat, she couldn't be convinced to share the house with our existing cats, so we took her back after ten days of watching her kick the bejabers out of our other cats. Hmmm, was the vet trying to increase her income?

Well, I knew Cooter was the mechanic on the Dukes of Hazzard, but I know that my mom didn't name him that from the show. She didn't watch it - I did.
But she seemed to like the name, so it stuck.

My first dog was a mutt named Pepper because he was black. His life ended under the wheel of a car. Second dog was a collie mutt named Ginger; I think you can guess what color she was. Got run over twice and lived to the ripe old age of 15 with only a blind eye to show for her accidents. Current dog is a shepherd mutt named Ayrton Senna da Silva. Usually called Senna or Bonehead depending on the mischief in which he is currently engaged. Only run over once, luckily with just a few resultant scratches. Do you see a trend developing? He was also attacked by a bobcat, which made the local papers since bobcats are rare around here. He nearly lost an eye, as the cut was on his eyelid was less than a millimeter from the eye. He’s also lucky he hasn’t been kicked out of our house by my wife due his high anxiety levels and some destructive rampages he’s gone on. He only seems to bug my wife and attack my wife’s stuff. I guess he just wants to show her how much he loves/hates her. My boys love him so she is outvoted three to one on the articles of impeachment.

Now that we live in the country, away from traffic, we are thinking of adopting a pair of greyhounds. We would name them Michael Schumacher (Shu for short) and Juan Montoya (Juan.) If you know those last three names, you can tell where my fandom lies.

My first son’s name is my middle name first and my first name middle. (Say that 3 times fast!) My second son’s first name is the diminutive of my Dad’s first name and his middle name is my wife’s maternal grandfather’s middle name. No clue what we would name a third child, but if it is a girl, I really like Christianna.

My father lived on western novels, and I married into an English family, so, nope don't get it at all....

well - get ready for this one - i actually named a kitten i had clara - for clara schumann!!!

my current kitty is name cricket - because she talks to much - she really does talk! she is very engaging and loves people (big gray/silver cat)

when i was a kid i had a hamster named herbie and a big white goose named henry j. waddles, III (it just sounded cool)

i was going to get a little schipperke this summer, but alas, the breeder only had girls, so i have to wait, as a want a male - i am going to name him "midwatch's little lenny, as in bernstein" that will be his official AKC name, but i will call him little lenny...

i am kinda depressed about not getting little lenny this summer, i was really looking forward to having the little guy - thank god i didn't go out and buy stuff for him, or i would be devistated
