Yeah, but cats claw the furniture, pick a spot on the carpet to use as a toilet, and sneak out of the house (since we have foxes, raccoons, and coyotes in our area, I don't want the cats fending for themselves).Originally posted by Serenity:
Dogs and cats are easier than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college and, if they get pregnant, you can sell the results
the sneaking outta the house... well, they're cats. i can see the fear with coyotes. hope they're not declawedOriginally posted by barfle:

No, although some offending parts have been surgically removed.Originally posted by lioness:

It depends on the cat (and we've probably had about ten over the years). One was just that way. He was an adopted stray so we never knew any of his history, but every once in a while, we'd find a deposit. The last time was when one got sick, and I think it was just too much trouble to go through the cat door to the garage and use the litter box. Well, that seemed to signal that it was OK for the other cats, and that pretty well sealed the deal. No amount of odor removal, enzyme treatment, shampooing, etc. could get them to leave that spot alone. I eventually replaced that part of the carpet (don't move that chair!).Originally posted by lioness:
i will say though, i have never :knocking on wood: had a cat destroy my carpet. my guys use a box and have always used a box. i have a lot of friends that suffer this with their animals. what is it that makes it start?
