Surprisingly enough, she played my request for Medieval Baebes without me sending it in!

Although I'm not all that sure what all that bellaring about "Vince's Cheerios" was...

Yes, it was great to hear Mediæval Bæbes on B.com again. I first heard them here almost 3 years ago and ended up buying a CD myself. Good stuff. Still haven't purchased a second CD, but not for lack of interest. It's just the procrasti.... oh, I'll finish this later. :p

Thanks YRH NM.

As I reall, wasn't Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth a funky album cover than you had to place a mylar cylinder in the center to see the cover art distortion-free?

You're thinking of No Earthly Connection. JTTCOTE was much better music, as was Six Wives of King Henry VII and Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, not to mention Criminal Record.

Sorry, I didn't care for Connection very much.

I saw him way back in 1974 doing Journey at the Hollywood Bowl, and I thought it was fantastic. One of the best concerts I've ever attended, even if it did sprinkle.

Then I saw him at the Anaheim Convention Center in 1976 or so, and it was pure agony. There were actually three acts; Savoy Brown (a source of agony if I ever heard one, particularly at that volume), Gary Wright (the best act of the three that night), and Rick Wakeman with a very small backup band that couldn't do justice to the music. They tore the stage down and reset it between acts, which took about an hour each time.

Kind of put me off for several years, but I have his recent concert DVD and that's very nice.
