Hi Marye:

One nice thing I've discovered is the bar in the rear acts as a barrier to tailgaters. At night it blocks their headlights. It took some getting used to at first but now I like it.

No kidding.... blocks headlights. That is good indeed.

You never know OT, Brian and I could jump in the car and come visit you the lovely Piq and the extraordinarily beautiful Altoid... or maybe, we will go see Shos. What about that Shos? You up for that? :D :D :D

Another weird car name: Mitsubishi Pajero.

Those of you who speak Spanish will know what it means; I don't think I can translate it on a family BB.

bacchus... A Cadilac? A Smart Car, maybe?

Since you are a wine merchant, bacchus, you should start a thread with a weekly choice of excellent wine that we should rush out to try. Personally, I am a huge fan of wine (friends are Ontario Wine Judges - Ontario Canada that is) and we buy it in bulk and then share it with our friends.

Marye,
If you like Merlot....

Frances Coppola has a Private Reserve Merlot that is the best I've ever had!
It cost about $45.00 - $50.00 (USD) for a 750ml bottle.

Well worth it.

Regards,
TM

Hey TM,
That bottle of Merlot sounds like just what I needed last night! Maybe I'll be good to myself and make an extra stop on the way home from work and enjoy the nice New England spring on my porch after work today!

Personally,

I like the slightly fruity, yet oaken taste of Meridian Merlot (under $10 a bottle) -- but a best buy and good taste around Y2K wine sites.

The 1998 and 1999 vintages were very good.

I haven't had it in a while.

Consumer Reports lists their 2004 best buy (and taste) as the very very inexpensive YellowTail brands from Australia.

I actually get the Merlot for a very nice $4.88 a bottle. I find it on virtually every relative or friends' tables at various times during the year.

And, some of them have fine wine tastes. I am no means a connoisseur, however, I'm not a Boone's Farm or Riunite drinker either.

I appreciate a good wine, and I give a thumbs up to YellowTail Merlot. (stepping off my wine case now...)

i ususally prefer a more sweeter flavor in a wine. i found a Blackberry Merlot that is fruity and wonderful. i personally think the rest of the Arbor Mist line is crap, but i am a sucker for this merlot.

Dave-
I tried that Merlot and I must have had a bad bottle. If I had a Toyota Prius I would have used it as fuel! But you're right- My husband is a tech writer- not a mega entrepeneur....who can afford $40 bottle of wine except the most extravagant of occasions??

Sadie Lady,

Sounds like a good plan!

I love red wine and I'm hooked on that Merlot!

Also,
Robert Mondavi - Cabernet Savignon MUST BE from Private Reserve - 1994 / 1995.
Cost can range from $95.00 - $110.00 (USD) per 750ml bottle.
Only had it 2 times but it is the smoothest!!!
Well worth the extra $$$.

regards,
TM

Lioness- not sure where "Gnosis" is- hope the weather is good there! I love autumn in New England too...up until Thanksgiving when the arctic chill ice and snow set in.... Spring is just the beginning of the good weather cycle- kind of the first day of vacation where you know you have the rest of the week to look forward to. Autumn is like the last day of vacation- you love it because it's still vacation, but work is right around the corner!
