Recent heavy rains--22" in 24 hours in one place. Took some pictures of the storm from my garage.

Yikes! Hope not too much got washed away! I noticed that on the weather channel the other morning (I'm mostly free of my TV addiction, but can't live without my morning weather channel viewing).

Worst we've gotten in recent memory is ~4 inches in a day (probably over about 6 hours) with the remnants of Katrina. I was impressed she was that powerful after crossing most of the continential US south to north. Usually these things die out before they get to us. Same thing for nor'easters - don't usually get this far inland.

Someday we'll get to Hawaii....

Actually, on the windward side it was 3" per hour. Did you see my pictures? That's the dry part of the island.

feels like the 'tropics' to me - highs of 70 yesterday and today... since we got snow last week, it feels like a tropical heat wave!!

Well here in not-so-sunny northern California we are slip-sliding away (musical reference...thank you Paul Simon). Too much rain for too many days. Tragically some poor 73 year old guy was trying to shovel mud from his backyard when the whole hillside slid on top of him. They have not found him yet...presumed dead. This was in Mill Valley, CA, just across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County. I live further north in the wine country and we are getting even more rain locally. Fortunately I live on the "flats", away from anything that could come swooshing down.

Feel free to send it down south here. We're still sorely lacking for rainfall, especially compared to last year.

Although if you could delay delivery until July or so, and keep it here through September, it would be additionally appreciated.
