From Shap: "They made a feature length film of the Lone Ranger in 1981, which pretty much bombed, as I recall. He had the silver bullets, but I'm not sure if the used the William Tell overture on not. I saw a small part of the movie when it ran on network television in the late '80s. It didn't hold my interest."
I thought the Lone Ranger movie was much earlier. I don't recall whether or not it started with William Tell, but the rest of the movie had music specially written. HO HUM!
Who was that masked man?
Without the right music, nobody.
