in China the classical CDs 'price is unbearable.
maybe in the west it's nothing because the price is determined according to the incomings of the west people.but in China if i buy 3 to 4 cds in one month i will be unable to afford the
living costs.

Hi Stormy, welcome.

Sorry to hear that cd's there are so expensive. Here there seems to be a wide variance in prices. Some are very expensive, while others are relatively cheap. A lot of it depends on the company producing the cd, and who is performing on it.

Hi Stormy!

Where do you live? Are you involved in music?

I spent 3 weeks in China earlier this year with a college band that gave several performances in Beijing, Xi'an, Soucho, Nanjing and Shanghai. We also visited Hong Kong. Sorry to hear that CDs are so expensive. I never priced them. I did notice that there were a lot of VERY inexpensive DVD's available though. We guessed that they might be pirated copies.

Stormy,

Around here we have used CD stores which purchase used CD's and resell them. The artist's unions have a problem with it, but I think they are a great idea.

Perhaps you could set up a CD swap club with some of your fellow classical music lovers.

Respectfully,

but chinese amateurs have their ways.
usually beginners buy pirates .it's not very appropriate but the pirates are dog cheap - 50 cents(us dollar).i also have 700 pirate discs .
and many people buy smuggle CDs.
and there is a piece of surprising news
in Guangzhou of china you can get the cheapest CDs in the world.
you can get the Universal'CDs at the prices of 10 dollars ,6 dollars, 4 dollars.
i got the bach2000 volum 12 ,2 dollars per disc!
