New player window "feature"

Postby treebeau » Mon Aug 18, 2003 1:36 pm

Howdy,

OK, so I was annoyed enough by the flashing advertisements that I drag the window down so low on the screen that the flashing part is below the bottom edge of the desktop. Problem solved!

Or is it?!

Now, after some time passes, I will sometimes click on the button to show the player window, and it is back on the desktop...fully. In other words, it seems to have learned how to reposition itself so the annoying part is back above the bottom of the screen.

Anyone else seen this feature?

Regards,
Tim B.

No, I usually just minimize it once I hear the opening ad start, and it plays pretty much fine minimized. Yeah, there's a button on the taskbar, but that's all of it I see 99% of the time. Once in a while the stream goes silent (not helicoptering) and I have to restore the player, then stop and restart it, but that's about it for any issues I have with the player window.

Yo, Tim!

I do the same thing when I bring up BR. I've never had anything happen once I've moved it down by the task bar. Everything strang (no start/stop button and no Volume control) always happen before I move it.

I do wait until it starts to buffer before I move it. If I don't there's a good chance it won't finish loading. They seem to be picky about having the commercials covered before the buffering starts.

The AR guy in me minimizes it, maximizes it, then resizes it to hide the ad. Works flawlessly every time!
