Your RH,
its just that those who agree with you have no power to actually play or not play the music. I'm sure its due to your exclusive power and elevated status that lliam chose you as the representative of the "play more" group, just as Ethan was most probably chosen as the "STOP" representative due to his initating the topic.

I dont actually care if there is more All Hallows Eve music or not, but if it can be located, QTIP is nice.

The majority of our listeners do not take part in the BBB and the majority of people who visit our homepage do not visit the BBB. These viewers would have not idea why the poll question would be there and I am not bringing this mess to the thousands who visit the site every week.

We see an increase in the Halloween fun because we see in the requests that come into the station. Tune in and you'll hear us play the Halloween requests.

Hey piqaboo, I'll dig around and see if I can find some Tribe for ya'! ;)

Let's all keep in mind that Beethoven Radio is a REQUEST ONLY STATION!! Each day we walk into the studio with no music in our hands. We start our shifts by printing out request emails. We are only playing what we are told to play, if ya want to hear someting else, don't gripe, send me an email... request@beethoven.com

Let's see, as near as I can tell what has happened here is:
</font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I asked if anyone else was as tired of Halloween music as I am, and gave a short explanation of why I don't like Halloween music, and suggested that All Saints Day be honored as well.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Selma made some suggestions for music for All Saints' Day and challenged me on my appraisal of Halloween, knowing how I would react.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I reacted, knowing how Selma would react to my reaction.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Selma reacted to my reaction with her usual syncretism</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I responded with quite a bit of (perhaps too) subtle humor.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Big ™ pointed out that Halloween is a religious holiday.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Selma must have forgot her Premarin cuz she scorched me, reading a whole lot more into what I said than I put there.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Selma then stumbled across her temporarily-absent sense of humor.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I blasted Selma, fighting fire with fire, perhaps a little too viciously (but I did take out the battle-axe-costume comment before posting) :o .</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">barfle humorously razzed me and suggested that I get a sense of humor.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sir Shos swept in with some rolaids for everyone.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Shapley dreaded the Christmas season.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sir Shos employed a diversionary tactic.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Tim nobly interceded for Selma.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">barfle revisited the humorous horror of Halloween and chided me for being to :D damned religious.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Lliam injected some humor.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Piqaboo proposed a truce.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Lliam injected some more humor</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">OT came through with a well-used but trusty diversionary tactic.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Lliam and OT tried some more humor.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Piqaboo took her life in her hands.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I decided to post a play-by-play.</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> (References to HRH were intentionally avoided out of respect on the part of this loyal subject)

It seems that my fire-making skills have not deserted me.

To summarize my position, I got quite sick of Halloween music yesterday. I thought I would see if anyone else felt the same way. It seems that most do not. I am of the opinion that Halloween is an inappropriate holiday, and that it is foolish to teach our children to make fun of witches, goblins, etc., however I have neither desire nor ability to force this opinion on others. I would like to think, however, that I can express this opinion.

Lliam, that is a hilarious profile photo.

Piqaboo, I hope you survive this . . . get the suit! :D

Ethan, far be it from me to tell someone what to believe, or that they're "to :D damned religious." Everyone believes what they are comfortable believing, and I can't prove very many believers wrong.

What I noted was simply that you often (note your signature, for example) throw your beliefs in others' faces, and that responses are to be expected. You might as well admit you're picking a fight with statements like Christianity being the only position that is not wholly irrational. Many people find that offensive, not to mention "irrational." Many people will also conclude from that statement that your mind is closed on the topic.

Again, it's not my place to tell you what to believe. I'm simply pointing out the consequences of your methods of indicating that belief to others.
