We're starting to have a left coast equivalent to the DCBBB lunch bunch(Barfle, Bones, Owlice Stravinsky, et al). So far, three of us got together for dinner once. We have the list of locals so far:

Anybody in Southeastern Washington / Western Northern Idaho? We could get together for lunch at Basilio's or Swilly's, or some place across the border, for that matter. Let's see—we'd be the PBBB (Palouse Beethoven Bulletin Board) lunch bunch, I guess.

Maybe we can have a get together during the Lionel Hampton Jazz Fest at U of I. I'll likely be up there with my college jazz band for a couple days.

Have you been to the jazz festival before? I've never quite gotten close enough to hear any of the music. Poor little Moscow bursts at the seams during the festival and it's nearly impossible to get anywhere, and very possible to get in an auto accident. I have generally tried to stay across the border while the festival is going on.

I'll keep you updated. I know the registration fee for our band has already been paid, so we will be there, I'm just not sure at this point if I'll be back in the band by then.
Yes, I was up there last year. Our band was stuck in a motel right across from the paper mill in Lewiston. The most unpleasant few days of my life (oh wait, boot camp... I take that back ) Other than the smell, it was great. Got to see some good concerts and workshops, and we played very well, which is always a plus.

Across from the paper mill? Aiieee. That really is a stench. Fortunately, I almost never smell it where I live. I could recommend some hotels that are closer, nicer, and possibly cheaper if that would help.
