the m/c club claims to have been founded in 1974. the drum corps was started in 1958.

You're just partial to toys with wheels.

I'm going to request some Canadian Brass, and the Blast! Bolero. <snicker>

I stand corrected. I thought the whole drum corps bit was a child of the eighties.

:o

Please, anything but Borello!!

Selma,
Saw Lioness question this morning. You beat me to the description. The bore of the cornet is more conical in shape and this is one of the reasons it has as some people say a "Sweeter" sound than a trumpet. I have a short model cornet that is used when playing in a traditional English Brass Band.
There are some fabulous brass band works. I think I will request one be played this morning!
Regards,
Howard

I requested a piece called Dances and Arias by Gregson this morning. It is a piece for traditional English Brass Band. It was written for the 1984 Brass Band Championships in England.
The North American Brass Band Championships here in the US also used the piece.
Not sure if BB.com will have a CD of this. Hope they do.
The piece runs about 13 minutes and is very good!
Regards,
TM :-)

I think it's great that there is a station where not only do they play your requests, they usually play them quickly. . .and they LIKE to play them.

Wonderful!

Nope, my ears were burning, and for some reason that triggers a cough reflex.

That LSO rendition of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is pretty bad. Should'a been called Dance Of The Dead Dinosaurs - my dancing raisins passed out from sheer boredom.

Too slow, very heavy feel to it, the whole rock edge was completely gone. :(
