The Rutter Requiem: Thank you, Bill in Hammond, IN.

Singing along quietly, lest I be slain by cube-rats adjoining. Even managed the top notes in Pie Jesu (won't mention tone quality). Very happy!

Selma,

Mary from Long Island sits diagonally across from me here at work. She loves Rutter and was in her glory a little while ago.

We both are early birds and have been sending Dan requests for a few months now.
It was quite funny last week when he realized from our email addresses that Mary and I worked at the same office.

So, Mary, soprano or alto?

I had to order that CD. I like it better than the Turtle Creek rendition that I have already. Turns out it was the one that Rutter himself produced. Then I ordered yet another that has Rutter's Requiem and Magnificat (not that I don't have both already) just because. I seem to be getting "shos&barfle" disease.

Hmm. If Mary in Long Island and Selma in San Diego are singing along to the same thing, is that Continental Super Stereo?

Selma,
She is a soprano! She actually performed the piece. didn't solo, sang in the choir.

SB,
Looks like your request is coming up!

Is it the "Vivaldi's Cello" CD?

<edit>

Never mind. I see that you were posting while I was posting. I ordered it. Thank you.

ARGH! It ate my post!

To reiterate:

I saw Yo Yo Ma here on campus performing with Emanuel Ax. It was a fabulous concert and I enjoyed the crap outta myself.

I have several of his cds, but that is not a cd I have.

Glad you enjoy it, in spite of your enmity for the Four Seasons!

hate is such a strong word. ;)
i very much dislike the repetative playings when he has so many other beautiful pieces. however, Yo Yo's version is so profoundly sincere and breathtaking.

so i will now say - i do not enjoy listening to the four season's unless it's Yo Yo Ma's version of Winter
