Big mistake. I put on the late TV news before sacking out. The president is having a photo op with the prime minister of Ireland, I believe. Reasonable for St Patrick's Day, and harmless, you say. MAYBE.
But I've been noticing several charming photo ops lately along with presidential speeches. The nice guy photo ops may be his campaign toward redemption. The presidential ones get criticized. I have yet to find one that doesn't deserve criticism. But the image of jolly, smiling, friendly Bush is hard to criticize --- especially if he keeps his political mouth shut. He comes across as decent, and he probably is under those circumstances.
So this is NOT a Bush-bash message. I'm just wondering if nice guy photo ops constitute a campaign for redemption so that he can appear with candidates later in the year as other than the kiss of death he has become. Time will tell.
Just wondering.
