Apparently, France is a nation of spoiled brats. When they don't get their way, they riot, burn cars, beat up police, and beat up each other. Some sort of national tantrum.

The government, which really needs to provide some sort of national spanking, instead wants to sit down with them and talk about their feelings.

From what I can gather, the government passed a set of labour laws to placate the people who rioted last Fall, which has led to the recent riots by people who are not happy with the changes to the law, mostly students and labour unions.

Paris used to be so lovely in the Springtime.

I'd hoped the gov't would leave the law intact. If I were an employer I'd do my damndest to learn if interviewees had participated in riots (demonstrations ok, riots bad) before hiring anyone.

I've read on another bulletin board that the French students who are rioting were concerned about finding work.

Another poster, who was a French expatriate, corrected that poster, saying that they had no idea what "work" meant, but that they were really concerned about finding a salary.

I'm pretty sure there are no job recruiters at the riot. I'm also a little vague on the ability to get a salary by rioting. Is there an actual plan, or are the riots just recreation?

I have to tell you; those images of mindless violence have become seared into my mind. I watch those scenes of mayhem as young men fight against each other, then smash windows and set vehicles on fire.

Sure, we went in under the guise of liberating a country, but now as it descends into what clearly appears to be a civil war, we have to look into our collective soul and ask ourselves:

Is It Time for the United States to Withdraw from France?
