I haven't been able to access my e-mail at all today. Anyone else having trouble?

I know it's not my internet connection. I've been able to order model airplane glue on line with no trouble at all.

Uh, wait...........

Never mind.

Sorry folks, we had to restart the servers. If you were trying to log on during the restart then you may have seen an error. The restart is all done and you should be able to get into your account.

Our email server died. We are running a few checks on the server to see if we can save or fix it but until then... it's dead. Sorry folks. Please use your alternate email accounts until we find the problem.

This also means our request address is not working so if you would like to request a tune call us toll free at 1-866-BEETHOVEN, that's 1-866-233-8468.

Hi Y.R.H.,

Thank you for the update. My mailbox is probably bouncing stuff because I'm pretty sure I've got ~9,476,332 pm notifications I haven't been able to clear. Oh well, this too shall pass.
Switching to alternate backup e-mail account...

BTW, is the BBB server also lurching a bit? The board seems to be refreshing verrry slowly. JOOC.

:)

And thank you for translating the toll-free number into numbers. I always get annoyed when I'm trying to dial and have to count letters.

Maybe that should be on the "PetPeeves" thread...........

Lliam, I did get your PM, but I bet you haven't received my reply. It was mostly unimportant, except for my thanks.
Cheers,

Anytime OT... I hate having to figure out the number translation thing too.

Yes the BBB is a bit affected. The BBB is on a different server then the email server but because the PM's are tied into the dead server... well that just slows the BBB down.

Sorry folks... we may dig a hole in the back parking lot for the server. :( Poor server.

Any guesses as to when it will be back up?

I'm worried about several messages I should be getting, and if they get bounce messages, they will probably not try again, and I'll be, shall we say, S.O.L.

A lot of the places I have subscriptions to need verification from the existing email address in order to change email addresses. That would mean my only hope is to create a new account.

We hope to have it up today but we can't promise anything... it's really fried.

If you were sent any emails during the time we were down, those emails are lost. Please ask the sender to re-send.

As for emails that were in your account before the crash, Chris Larsen was able to save the accounts onto a back up server. But now it's a matter of syncing the backup server to the website and making it active. That may be done today. If not today then some time on Monday or Tuesday.

My e-mail is back up, running and Super Chris Larsen managed to save all messages!

Thank you so very much for fixing it!

While I'm glad the email is up again, and I'm quite glad that it no longer obscures the titles of the messages with the "spam" labels, I still have a lot of difficulty sending email through beethoven. I have set up a similar POP3 server (prodigy) with similar settings, and it works fine.

I still get the "unexpectedly disconnected" message, ALMOST every time I click on "send and receive."

Barfle,

Does your POP3 account allow you to authenticate to the outgoing mail server? That may be the problem. Our server will reject your connection if it doesn't know who you are.
Sincerely,
