Still no sound in Mass. Studiocam D seems to be trfreshing every 10 seconds but, about every 15 minutes, Nicole "strikes a pose" in Studiocam A.
Why is that girl in the Production studio behind a closed door? Doesn't she realize we can watch every move?

Whoah, does that mean that studio Cam B and C will be coming soon!? Weather Cam and... Hmm, maybe an obverse view of the production studio?

So no b.com....

I fired up MusicMatch Jukebox and am listening to the station called Beatles Legacy. What a great station.

At first, I thought that all of the silence was an extended version of the Nutopian National Anthem :D

I turned on the b.com stream, just because, as I head for bead. Checking if it's up yet.

The player launches, claims to connect, claims to buffer, claims to be playing. No sound.

Except for the silence, the rest of the sequence seems perfectly normal.

Oh, well, I had to go to bed anyway. Perhaps the sound will magically appear by tomorrow at work.

I shall persist in hoping. Things are getting better.

No better here in PA.
The player launches, claims to connect, then says "ready" but hangs at that point.

So... still no B.com for me.
Much sadness, as I work at home and the other internet radio station... well, suck (too much attitude I guess).

Beethoven.com:

Many of us are going to alternate sites and/or CDs while the B.com stream is being held in the reservoir. Would it be possible for you to send a message to those of us on the Beethoven.com newsletter e-mailing list when the stream is flowing again?

Thanks for all you do to make the day go so much better for so many of us. And good luck with the technical repairs.

Sheesh, go away for two weeks and the service gets turned off.

My problems are the same as Selma, everything looks right but no music.

Hello,

I apologize for the trouble with the Adsertion stream. Here's the official low-down.

Over the weekend Adsertion upgraded the software on our encoder that sits at the Beethoven Studios. The upgrade was an attempt to fix some of the problems we've had last week and to solve the intermittent hellicoptering problem. The upgrade required a Microsoft serviced pack update and that update wrecked the audio card drivers. We swapped audio cards and Adsertion has their new programmer working to coax music from the card right now. While she works on the main encoder we're also working on a backup encoder to see if we can get it online quickly. If all else fails we'll fall back to the original software and hardware. Hopefully we'll be able to get it up and running soon. Thank you very much for your patience and support.
Sincerely,
Chris Larsen

Chris, I'm sure you are busting everything you've got to get b dot c's stream back up.

In the meantime, a progress report. The adsertion window now shows that it's playing (the elapsed time is incrementing, and it says "Playing" with the sun face and stereo speaker icon), but no sound is coming out.

This happens from time to time, and I usually can get it to come back by stopping and restarting a few times. However, in this instance, five times didn't result in any music (or even commercials).

At least it thinks it's working, instead of simply dropping off to "Closed."

Good luck, and I anxiously await the return of my favorite radio station.

Right now, Taverner Consort is doing the Vivaldi Gloria and Magnificat. OK, I cheated and put on a CD, but maybe the music will head back up the internet to the cursed servers that the evil wizards trashed and that the good wizards are now working on, and help with the counterspells.

Next, I'll put on Haydn's Creation oratorio. Got it all lined up.

Good thing there's a CD stash at work.

I keep a CD stash here at work, as well. I bought a "Classical top 100" CD set off the sale rack at the local music store a while back.

It is a testament to the quality of b.com's engineers that, after a year, I still haven't had to finish listening to all ten CD's in the set. Today, I'm on starting on number 8.

I ripped a bunch of CDs to my hard drive so I've got plenty of music to keep me going, but I miss the cheerful voices of the cdjs from Hahtf'd.

We're pining away, hoping for a quick cure to the problem, and I know I'm checking several times a day.

I wonder how much this is costing Adsertion?

Well, as I just returned from England and saw Phantom in London (13th time for my wife, she's...different)

I'm listening to Sarah Brightman who was the best Christine I've ever heard. She's also one of the best sopranos I’ve ever heard.

I’m still checking on B.Com every hour or so. Ya never realize how much you miss music until it’s not there.
