Windows Media Player 9

Postby treebeau » Wed Sep 08, 2004 10:52 am

Greetings,

I just upgraded from WMP 8 to WMP9 (yes, I know there is a 10 available now). When installing I just accepted all the default options.

Now, when starting the stream to listen to B.com it opens in a WMP window where the "Now Playing" information is displayed as well. I used to open up 2 separate windows...1 for the stream and one for the Now Playing. A couple of years ago I suggested that this could probably be combined and the day has finally come! Hooray folks!

Regards,
Tim B.

AHA! The latest marketing strategy from TinyFlaccid:

You can only get WMP 10 if you have XP.

Nobody said he was dumb.

In my career, I have seen IBM doing it for years. We use an OS on the mainframes called TPF 4.1. It used to be called ACP. When I started in the industry people were switching from version 2.3 to 3.1. A few years later from 3.1 to 4.1. Now 5.1 is in the works.

With each new OS version IBM announces that they are dropping support for the version which is 2 or 3 back. So, basically, upgrade or suffer.

It's not just them. Have you ever tried to get pre-Solaris opsys support from Sun?

Prepare for laughter. :(
