Hi Rich,

Could you elaborate some? I've been running it since I started this thread, and the only thing I had to futz with so far is setting up the Bookmark Toolbar(which I incidentally find to be exceedingly cool).
I like the idea of a separate drop down menu for engines, and haven't customized that yet, either.

Have you been able to click on a WMA link and have it open Windows Media Player automatically?

After using FireFox for ~3 weeks, I have to say I like it. It has given me no trouble whatsoever, kills every popup every time, and has yet to give me one glitch. It seems to be extremely navigation friendly, gives lots of options on how to set up bookmarks and favorites, and the Bookmarks Toolbar is a nice convenience.

It's free, and you can downlaod it from www.mozilla.com. I think the free, open domain status is one of its protections against viruses, etc.

I downloaded it yesterday on the recommendation of my son, who spends a lot more time on computers than I do. So far so good. I was most impressed with the speed it brought up web pages.

I'm searching for a decent Trojan killer. There are plenty of "free" ones around which scan your computer then want to be paid for removing what they find. One of them didn't even find the virus AVG told me existed. (It was one of those ones that re-installs itself after removal and had been cropping up for days). I've got Adaware se personal (free) which appears to have dealt with the problem. It hasn't surfaced during this session anyway.

I'm still concerned at the huge number of bytes my machine sends out. Does anyone know of a way of finding out what they are & where they're going?

I've been using Firefox for about 6 months and I love it. My big complaint was that it seemed to sometimes drop off in the middle of downloading larger-sized files -- this problem has supposedly been fixed with the newest and first non-beta release(version 1.0). I've been running it for about a week -- so far so good.

bignaf -- After googling E. Power Biggs, I wish that I could claim I was a big fan -- I just got off the phone with Pops I'm gonna borrow a couple of his Biggs records and I get back to you.

I've found that Firefox won't run Sibelius Scorch scores.

A site I go to now & then, Parlour Songs, provides the scores & lyrics of its songs, and many of them are in Scorch format. IE will bring them up and run them; Firefox won't. It wants the plug-in to be downloaded, but even when I do (I've probably got 2 plug-ins now!) it won't find it.

It seems we have another one for the indefatigable Mr. Larsen.

Apparently I must be the first B.com e-mail user to use FireFox. GC downloaded FireFox, and the B.com home page has MY e-mail login information on it when he opens B.com via FireFox!!!!! Since B.com doesn't seem to interface well with FireFox, my guess is it's B.com's software that is at issue.

Firefox is very well designed. I've had it about three weeks and like it better than Opera. No problems to report. Sorry Opera, but you have messed up my operamail and I have no way of correcting it that I can find.

Eureka!! I was finally able to find out how to fix the pop-up menus for the Beethoven site under Firefox. So far I'm not a huge fan of the new browser but I'll give it some time and see if it grows on me.
Keep letting us know of bugs with the browser and I'll try to quash them as we go along. Thank you!
