Email Spam Filter

Wassup? It seems to be blocking everything except those occasional blank messages for the past several days.

I tried changing my email client to working in IMAP mode, and although it says it was checking folders, it wouldn't even get the emails in my mail folder, not to mention the spam folder.

Last night I also noticed that I'm not sending emails, even to my other legitimate accounts.

HELP, PLEASE!

We have a glitch in the email system that is causing all emails to end up in the spam folder. We can not locate this glitch. We have installed updates and are working on a few options but until we locate why this is happening... there is not much we or email users can do. Sorry about this.

Thank you, YRH. It's good to know that the problem is noticed and being worked on.

Good luck to Chris, too.

I have not had any problems with any email being marked as spam that is not spam, however the last couple days I have noticed that all the spam is ending up in my inbox instead of the spam folder. It still has the "x-mail spam connection" in the subject line, it is just not finding its way to the correct folder.

It's a minor annoyance (AKA no big deal to me), and I suspect it has something to do with what Chris is doing to fix the other problems mentioned on this thread. Just thought I'd let you know that it's happening.
Insert creative phrase here.

For a few weeks, all of my email went into the spam box, except that generated by beethoven.com directly (full mailbox, refused delivery). Now, all the mail is going into the inbox, which at least my email client can retrieve and delete. All messages have the "X-IMail-SPAM-Connection" tagged on the front of the subject line, which leads me to believe that what they've been able to do is direct all mail that was going to the spam box (which was all of it) into the inbox instead.

It's better than it was, but my guess is that Chris and his staff of skilled technicians and engineers still don't feel they have it fixed.

Does anyone know why you would get spam e-mail if your e-mail address or name is not in the address TO: line?

Or why you would see an alias with someone else's e-mail address link:
TO: "Jane Doe"<joe_shmoe@email.com>

I used to love spam on sandwiches with mustard or, pickled red cabbage or piccalily or sweet pickle. I haven't had any spam for years. I was with my wife last week, out shopping for the weekly groceries and I noticed how very expensive spam had become. I'm not tight fisted but I wouldn't pay the extortionate price for such a product. Do any of you guys know why spam is so expensive? Selma, what's napa cabbage?

Yes.

In the email client programs I know anything about, there is a "blind carbon copy" field. If you're using MS Outlook, you can see it on messages you are sending by clicking on the "view" pulldown, then selecting "Bcc Field."

The recipients of the message don't see the addresses in that field, which may well include you.

It's a green vegetable. Not as tightly headed as the european white cabbage, less textured than a savoy cabbage, and a longer head structure than either. It's widely used in asian cuisine, as it is wonderful when stir-fried.

The local warehouse store has Spam in a nine-pack, neatly shrinkwrapped. Me, I like the lower-salt variety that the regular grocery store carries. (& they also have the napa and the bok choy and maybe even a fresh pineapple.) (snow peas!)

How did we ever get by without the regular fresh produce delivered from other-places-where-it-is-summer-now? I've got grapes from Chile, red bell peppers from Mexico, oranges from Florida, apples from Washington, and a pineapple from Hawaii on the table, right now.

Well, lioness, there's always the other way. South to Albuquerque, take the highway across to Deming/Lordsberg (saves about an hour), and follow 10 until 8 splits off. Take 8, make a right at Jackson Dr., Piq or I can direct by phone from there.

Dead easy. Supper at 7.
