B.com Server problems 23MAR05

Anyone else having B.com site problems. Home page is not loading properly, getting errors. Bulletin Board stops in midstream of sending replies/posting.

Just pauses and stops all over. However, not gettting same results with other sites / networks.

Are you using Real Player or the Free Windows Media?

Windows Media, but in no way is the stream being affected. Besides, I'm using the company network, and being part of IS, the network is operating.

It's Extraordinary! just kidding...different topic.

Hopefully the issues with my access will be resolved tomorrow.

Dave,
B.com has a limited number of port access thru Windows Media. I thought ports may all be busy at that moment, causing you not to be able to access the main b.com page.

I think so.
I am experiencing a very slow response time.

Very slow. So slow that I can't stay here to read all the threads and engage in conversation. So long for now ... :(

I take it we had a little technical difficulty with the BBB?

It doesn't look as though anyone else was online for the last few hours....

OT- You must not have been listening to the stream today. H.R.H. NM announced that maintenance was being performed on the B.com server during her show.

Hi Hal,

No, I wasn't listening today. Doing chores and chasing a speed-crawling baby around the house, so I didn't sit in one place long enough to listen.

As a suggestion, someone from B.com might post something on the bulletin board to that effect in concert with the on-air annnouncement.

Sorry folks that we could not post anything, the server that we were working on was the one that holds the BBB. The BBB was completely down and even if we did post a message, no one would be able to see the Board anyway.

And we don't post anything on the homepage either because by the time we post the info, we are done with the work. Plus you never want to tell people that your site sucks and it needs fixing. Sets Bad image. Just wait a few moments and it will all be fine.

Oh, I don't know, I think it sets a better image that you're willing to talk about what's going on. At least with the geeks in the audience. Every site has its problems!

But to the point - is the Now Playing working right for anyone else? The music log isn't showing, either.

Khasut-

We have over 800,000 hits to the site each month. Not all of them stay to listen. The last thing you want to advertise to a visitor is that we are having a tech problem. It does not set a good image.
