Long Shot

Postby trombonepirate » Tue Jul 05, 2005 10:08 pm

Hi Gang!
This is probably a long shot, but after a month of digging through haystacks it's worth a try. Do any of you out there know anything about the composer Luise Greger? Or the music professor Carl Ludwig Bemmann? I'm writing my thesis on Greger and am coming up severly short of information. Maybe there's another student of obscure German composers out there. Any information (or humorous taunts) would be appreciated.
Thanks

I googled her - I presume you've already done that? - came up with a collection of her lieder still in print and for sale. There's also a bio blurb. album and bio site. It looks like BYU's Sophie project would be your best bet. An e-mail to the project director might get you into their digital collection? Or at least a better lead from their bibliographies.

The Sophie's Daughter's site at BYU has mp3's of her compositions. They're not awe-inspiring. Good luck with that thesis.
