The "Now Playing" window has been stuck on the Acdemic Overture for 5 hours now.

I solved the problem, for all of yers!
I started streaming using "Windows Media Player" and the "Now Playing" window changed - correctly - to WAM's "Jupiter" Symphony no 41 , as if by magic.
Next on: Woolly Mammoth , by Meyer & Fleck (not familiar with it, but I don't mind trying it at least once).

Hey - the "Now Playing" window is working great! Updating the "Next" almost immediately when a new piece starts (which wasn't always happening properly up to now - I hope I'm not speaking too soon:eek:).
So who says they don't do "server maintenance"?
Way to go! :)

If there is one thing I've noticed in all my posts, The now playing window seems to get stuck around 4 - 5 pm.

B.com ladies and gentlemen:

The server still seems to be running on 5 out of 8 cylinders right now, stalls a lot.

JFYI.

the biggest frustration is the real player
returns a message that B.com is NOT ON THE AIR at this time.... I know it's incorret...
Takes about 3-4 times to get back in...

Not good......

Given with what went on with the BBB last night(got that big error message for awhile), plus with its track record, I'd put my money on the server.

Maybe we should start a collection to buy them a nice new one?

Maybe we should all just mail Christmas gifts to the station. Maybe in Christmas cards? Or alternate solstice celebration cards?

Is it just me, or are there others finding the system responding very slowly when accessing pm's?

Still thinking about taking up that collection for new servers......

OT,

I subscribed to Real Player... Ugh...

I get bounced off in the middle of listening or writing to the BBB.

I downloaded Firefox and when I use WMP through Firefox I don't seem to have any problems.
And it's Free!

I have to work with Servers & DBAs and I know they can be pesky with Memory Leaks.... Space Issues.....

Not sure if it is the B.com Server or the folks
at Real Player

Hope it's resolved quickly for you.

regards,
TM

I actually subscribed to RP as well, and it doesn't give me any consistent problems.

The current issue I'm noticing is a very long time lag when going into and out of pm's.

FireFox does rock, doesn't it?

OT,

So far I am very pleased with Firefox....

I wonder if some of the issues I'm seeing with
real player has to do with our "network".....

Just google "Real Sucks" to see how much vitriol there is out there for Real's products.

I use Real only because it still supports NT with its latest products and decoders. Otherwise it is ridiculously poorly designed software for playing audio and video.
