Musical terms reference guide (dictionary)

I'm looking for a good musical dictionary or musical reference guide. Or a handy website?

There are alot of terms that I don't know like Rondo, Largo, fortissimo, etc. Although I can guess on some of them, it would be nice to have a guide of some sort. Perhaps a classical music for dummies like me guide would be perfect!

For general use, the dictionary and encyclopedia at www.bartleby.com work out OK for me. Bignaf might perhaps recommend some more technical references, but if you don't know any theory to start off with they are sometimes a tad baffling.

Or you can ask OT. He'll tell you all about it.

I was about to post something similar, Ray. Thanks for saving me some typing time! For a quick reference I use Wikipedia, but I would prefer something that is considered more accurate.

Sorry, I missed your question on how I found the site...
All I did was search on Music Dictionary....
and found it... Don't remember if I googled it or used another search engine... I have a bunch of differnet options from work....

I recommend the same ones TM recommended. Grove is the most prestigious and comprehensive. there's a concise version, and a very long-winded version, that might even include something bones doesn't know. though i suspect Bones has a New Grove implant in his brain.
I also recomment Dolmetsch for a free, very usable version. in fact, I have it in my favorites, and that site has other great (some of it quite advanced) stuff.

The convention they approved me to go to is in Miami Beach... Next week...
I will have to figure something else out to get me out to San Diego.... on Company Business..
