Serenity and Scott...you must have heard of our New England-style bonfire nights. They're called keggers and they're held in the woods multiple times a year!

Oh...is that all it is?...wait...in the woods? Last time I cut through the woods (in the 80s), I found a couple of campfires with some sort of charred, furry creature nearby.....it then dawned on me that people were holding ANIMAL SACRIFICES ....so I high-tailed it and never went back to the woods

Now I have to wipe my keyboard.

I love pavlova & my wife makes an excellent one. She does it every year for my birthday, and occasionally to give the homestay students a taste of NZ. (Don't tell the Aussies though- they think it's theirs). A young Korean lad once had a memorable 3 helpings, then licked the plate clean.

....as in "forest", that which includes "trees"....Did the annual fires burn all the trees down in Sandy Eggo? That's OK, you can have "keggers" at the chaparral, or in the shrubs (thickets..if you will).

Serenity, we declare any area a "National Forest" if there are more than three medium shrubs per acre. I don't think you can count a manzanita as a "tree". Fires burn grass, greasewood, scrub, prickly pear, chaparral, and trees people have nurtured in their yards.

The only things I can think of called "keggers" are parties featuring a large container of beer, usually held on the beach. Also often featuring visits by various uniformed public servants and health officials.

I don't think "woods" are as big as a forest...I'm not really sure...I just refer to it as the woods...more than 3 shrubs, but less than 1000 trees maybe?
