Mr Magician thank you very much!
I bumped into 'Dad' again on fathers day and it reminded me that I'd posted my ghost stories at some point.

This time, I saw him.

I know, crazy.

Funny thing, we've had company for awhile. A house full, lots of distractions. In the midst of the crowded pool deck, water splashing, kids laughing, mid-sentence, I thought I heard the sliding glass door, turned around and there he was.

Turns out it was my daughter that opened the door but I'm here t' tell ya, Dad was standing right there.

Dad was a sweetheart and a truly kind soul. I don't get scared but that certainly startled me.

I had a look at Dai Bread's post about ghosts in the old thread and it reminded me of something.

I used to work at the Glenbow Museum, western Canada's largest museum. Cliff Cranebear, a Blackfoot from the Siksika reserve, was a curator there. He was telling me over coffee one day that he had a ghost in his home. The ghost wouldn't do anything scary, it just kept bugging him, like standing right behind him when he was trying to read the paper, or popping out at odd and incovenient times. Cliff wasn't scared, but he did want the ghost to leave.

"Cliff," I said, "that shouldn't prove too difficult for you. Just smudge (smoke) the house with sage and sweetgrass."

"I tried that and it didn't work," said Cliff. "Ghost is a white guy."

:D
Cheers,
Angie

Wow those are some scary stories.

The only scary thing happening to me was when I visited Maui..and I was all alone in my aunt's house with some cousins. The fan was turned off..then all of a sudden it just turned on and started to blow papers and stuff. When I went to turn it off..the dial was already pointing to off. Ahh that made me so scared x____x;;

21 years ago my wife and I married (2nd time for both). We were in her small house with 3 of our 5 kids. So we looked at a big old house that had 14 rooms. When we came for a 2nd look, the lady said to my wife "I knew you'd be back, dear. The house likes you."

We bought, moved in, had disagreements over house and kids, separated and got divorced 5 years later. We now are re-married and live in the house next door. The kids have been long gone, so we don't have any real problems. However, the ghosts of our previous marriage still haunt us.

As an aside, a Unitarian minister friend once visited and said "What a great place for a seance". He was a nice guy, but his wife was a witch. No kidding. At least, she professed to be. They got divorced, too. Right now a great Catholic couple with 6 kids live there, and they seem very happy. We never asked if they got the place exorcised. ;)

The only "ghostly" experience I ever had was an ouija board that moved itself across the room (old ghost thread). . .maybe I am not "open" to such things. (I don't see that as a bad thing)

Hi Marye.
We haven't asked, but virtually everybody likes my wife. ------------------ Come to think of it, the trees around the house send an inordinate number of leaves into our yard. I wonder.
