OT, I think it is a pretty impressive startup considering that all the old threads were preserved. Some board just punt and start with all fresh threads.![]()
Something awesome about the new software is we can delete our last post. Yeah! No more double posts hanging around!![]()
One tip for new users, hit "enter" once before you start your reply to a quoted message. phpBB doesn't skip a line after a quote like the old software did. It makes your posts more readable.
Oh yeah, thanks for the wide format!

I NEVER SAW ANY WARNING.
Impressive?!! I spent half the day trying to find old threads. There are about a dozen recently discussed topics that may as well have been deleted because I'll never find them.
Delete double posts? Big deal. We were able to do that before. It's called erasing one of the posts. I'd trade that for being able to get a hint of what was being discussed without going into the thread, plus PROFILE PHOTOS, not to mention the pm's I lost, in a New York minute.
Let me guess: You sold B.com on this crap.
BigJon@Work wrote:Piq, I'm not sure why not going to the forum in all weekend is a problem for you and OT. If you click the "view posts since last visit" you'll see everything since the last time you interacted with the forums and set your cookie. That's far better, in my mind, than the old link which just went back an arbitrary amount of time to look for new posts. I often missed a bunch of stuff that was posted on Fri evening and Saturday with that link.

Very, very rude and again a sign of not doing your research.
phpBB is an open source code that is freely available and fully modifiable. There is a wide community of developers who have solved most of the problems that have been mentioned. It is up to the administrators to decide if they will implement the modifications which can be a big job because they overwrite localizations sometimes. I've been helping administer a phpBB for the last year and a half, so I thought I might offer my help here. But if I am treated rudely, I don't need to do anything.
Yes I am an enthusiast of phpBB because it puts the power into the hands of the people, shouldn't a person like yourself be in approval of such a scheme? phpBB has done wonders for building community in my other organization, I hope it does wonders here too.
