Prize for 100,000th post!

Postby Catmando » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:21 pm

Hmmm, a great idea struck me! What if beethoven.com were to give a prize to the person who gets the 100,000th post on the BBB? :P

Not sure that Beethoven radio would agree with me that this is a wonderful idea.

In the meantime, here is one idea for a prize:

Airplay of your favorite Gilbert & Sullivan tune.

Any other prize suggestions?

Contest is for the person who puts up the 100,000 th post on bbb, not the first person to post 100,000 posts.

Even OT probably will never reach 100,000 individual posts. :P

Question: Does anyone know who the first member of the Beethoven.com bulletin board is/was?

Was it Shos?

I would suspect it would be a member of the staff. I guess the real question would be: Who was the first non-staff member of the bulletin board.

That's funny because your post was post number 80021. I guess the difference in the tally and the post numbering is posts that have been deleted.

this presents a quandry. which 100,000th post shall be considered the 100,000 post? the one who makes up a total of 100,000 existing posts on the board, or the one that has the number 100,000?
I'd guess the latter, since the other will probably be unverifiable if we all post at once.

the name sounds familiar, but I don't think I ever had a hand delivery there. I guess I should send a CD of my stuff to B.com, so y'all can request my stuff.

I've been around long enough to remember Bobcatsicle. :)
But I don't believe I was the first, nor the first non-staff member.

Tim, I think you've got seniority of those who still post, however, at the very least. You Shos, and Barfle.

Was it true that back when you guys first started posting here you had to walk through six feet of snow in your bare feet just to post?
