I just noticed that that the CD page in the Music Log is just a click away from the Now Playing window. Very nice. Thanks.

Woot, yah, very cool to have the clickie in the windows media player go to the album info, with amazon and itunes search! Thanks also for making the itunes search be optional. Listening mostly at work, I don't have itunes most of the time, but having itunes 2 clicks away will be nice.

I agree. It's wonderful to have that information on the music right there, and the Amazon links with all the varieties to choose from.

Oh boy, there goes all my money!

Sarge,

Is it possible the cookies being issued for logins are session cookies, not persistent cookies? I just quit entirely out of my browser (firefox 1.0.7) and brought it back up, and went to the "Posts since Last login" page. It totally reset my posts.

OT,

Do you close down all instances of your browser often during the day? I know it does help hold down memory usage, but that could be why you're seeing much worse behavior than many of us.

I notice that the 'View Posts Since Last Visit' is becoming unreliable. I logged in this A.M., and perused the list, then logged out. I logged in an hour or so later, and clicked on the 'View Posts' button, and it listed only one entry. I had noticed before clicking on it, that there was a very recent post from Piq in the 'Musical Notes' forum, which did not show up. I clicked 'back' and found at two others did also did not show up.

I have noticed this before, but blamed it on my poor memory, thinking maybe I had logged in briefly in the interim, which would cause it to be reset. That could not have been the case this A.M., however, as I was in a meeting for more than an hour prior to my login, and I had closed the Internet Explorer prior to the meeting.

Unless, of course, someone is logging in as me. :curse:

Ben, not really. But, I do keep my cookies pretty tidy, and flush history regularly. I do have to pay attention to memory, because my vintage machine doesn't have a lot of it by today's standards((384MB RAM, a total of 18GB hard disk space).

Shap, welcome to my world. :banghead:

Is there some trick I'm missing to using the smilies under "View more Emoticons"? I have to go through some convoluted C&P contortions to post one. Shouldn't I be able to just click on one to use it?

Or does it take a degree in software engineering like titling a URL?

I see no problem here, I'm just clicking... You have a bad computer that should be sent to its room. :badputer: :sing: You don't happen to have javascript turned off do you?

I'm am stumpped on the use of the Img button though... That needs some hand masaging, right? I just get [img] etc...

Posts since last login probably needs two cookies to do its job so if you empty your cookies once a day or more often, it's gonna get confused.. I'm with shapely though. It's now not even catching every post that has been posted in the meantime. I'm just guessing, and I can't say why this would be, but it seems like 24 hour posting might have been one of the culprits of slow bbb; They turned it off and the board became not QUITE so slow. It's oodles and oodles better than it was at that time right now, so I vote give it another try, and if need be, give it it's own index, though you really shouldn't need to do that, since they both are based off time...

The Img button works different, that's all. It's easier. There are two methods.
Method 1:
    Click "Img"
    Paste URL to image file
    Click "Img"
Method 2:
    Paste URL to image file
Highlight the URL you just pasted
    Click "Img"

Either method will generate the bracketed Img and /Img tags. If you distain the use of clickie buttons you can still hand-type the bracketed Img and /Img tags. The URL and Quote and List tag clickies seem to work the same way.

All this was initially explained to me by the charming 14-year-old who lives in the condo across the breezeway from me. Apparently, all teens know this stuff by osmosis. She sighed, rolled her eyes (discreetly) and then explained it all to me. Slowly. In small words. :dunce:

Ok, hmm, thought I'd done such a thing, but here goes!! I think we need a felllow such as this to tell our bbb to behave:

(It's a mighty dragon too, not just the mighty mississippi.)

EDIT: AH HA, so THAT'S what I was doing wrong! Point to note, phpBB hates to have anything after the picture file extension!

(Hmmmm, now where was that other one that failed to behave...)

phpBB hates spaces between the address and the brackets as well. Keep it tight and tidy.

Hey, it worked without going through all of the C&P contortions.
