Was the composer born before 1940?

recap: Piece by a living American composer who was born before 1940, and wrote some film music.
piece includes electroniclly produced or reproduced sound, and isn't really orchestral. piece was written either before 1950 or between 1976-1989. the piece includes a few singers singing a text not written by an american author.
thecomposer isn't: glass, carter, williams or these: Basil Poledouris
