And the last work was the Weber-Berlioz Invitation to the Dance. It was identified as something by Haydn. Anybody knows that second theme could have been written by nobody but Weber-Berlioz.

Weber-Berlioz! a great composer. second only to Bach-Busoni.
Busoni was actually once introduced at a dinner, seriously -- I think, as Bach-Busoni.

There's something (a passacaglia ?) by Handel that was arranged by Halvorsen (violin & viola ?). It was played on TV by Perlman and Zuckerman, with the composer announced as Handel-Halvorsen. Even public TV is not immune.

I enjoyed the Mozart Madness Saturday, particuarly "A Musical Joke" and several parts of the "Requiem".

Some more suggestions for a Weekend Feature: Perhaps a "Violin Virtuosi" or "Piano Party" Saturday, featuring sonatas and concertos of these two wonderful instruments?

I noticed that the person wasn't Scott. But I have no idea who it was. I was confused?

On Saturday our local signal WTMI AM 1290 broadcasts West Hartford football games. We split the signal during the games. People on the dot com hear Beethoven Radio and folks on WTMI hear the game. Pete is the guy who was wearing the shirt. He is the board op for the game. The host of the sports games is another Pete named Pete Lamaroux, he is a local sports caster that hosts the games.

Oh ok. When you click on the Weekend Feature link, it does say Saturday is "The Russians are Coming". The front page still reads "Mozart Madness."

Since the Russians are coming, I think I may request Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition".

Fixed. Sorry about that. Three of us work on the website. I make the changes each Monday but if Sarge or Chris need to work on the site, they can over ride my work if they do not to an upgrade step first. Looks like one of them did not do that first upgrade step before working on the site and the erased my work.

We post the weekend feature info on the homepage because we are damn proud of our weekend programming! We love the shows and the effort we put iinto it and we want people to listen!

Well, Beethoven Bonanza weekend blasts off (literally) with Wellington's Victory.

Not what one would think or consider as 'typical' or 'vintage' Beethoven! :shock:

Apparently, however, this work was one which brought him great success financially.

I picked up on the "For he's a jolly good fellow!" theme near the beginning.
