Interesting.
I think elementary school was my most cherished educational experience because of these things:
I learned that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and could never tell a lie (later learned in college that he was the greatest general America ever had), I learned that you can't put the word "because" at the beginning of a sentence. Because I was so awful at math, my teacher taught me how to memorize certain multiplications: I learned that to memorize 4 x 4 = 16, I have to imagine myself being 16 years old and that I'm driving a 4x4. In music class I learned that Bach's name should sound like "Bachhhkkksh" and that kids aren't allowed to watch the Night on Bald Mountain from Fantasia because it's "satanic."
