It's not really a problem - it's just as easy to Google the first Kentucky Derby as it is Gandhi's birthday. I just do it to add a little 'local flavouring' to the questions, like adding curry to a hamburger to give it an Indian flavour. (or a 'u' to flavor to make it look British. :D )

Was the composer born west of the Ural mountains. If yes, was he/she born east of the Prime Meridian?

Yes (Apparently 'Gandhi' is an (correct) English word, while 'Mohandas' and 'Karamchand' are not, Firefox tells me. :? )
