Okay, here's a recap...

Composed between 1937 and 1945. For a chamber group, containing parts for strings.

Composer, no longer alive, was originally from a country which was part of the western Roman Empire, but emigrated to the U.S. later. Nor Austrian, Bohemian, French, German, or Italian.

Btw, it may me take some time to reply while I'm messing around with my computer and accessing the internet from a slow LiveCD. Keep the questions coming...

Does the composition contain vocals?

Did the composer die in the U.S?

If so, was it in one of the original 13 colonial states?

23. Was the composer born after advent of mechanized flight?

I don't think so. Could you be a bit more specific with the year?

24. Did Hadrian's Wall seperate the land of the composer's birth?

Getting warmer. :) At last, you come to the UK, and it's getting warmer :!:

25. Does the composition contain vocals?

No

26. Did the composer die in the U.S?

Yes, and...

27. If so, was it in one of the original 13 colonial states?

...Yes

28. Born in England?

Two more questions to go. Composer born in England and died in one of the 13 colonies in the US, after 1966.

Born before 1903 and died after 1966.

Here's a hint: Birth was somewhere in the last twenty years of the 19th century.

Bang! What a way to start the day! :D

30 questions are up. Now it should be an easy job to come up with the composition.

I think there are 3 possible pieces. I'll dangerously guess: passacglia (on an old English Tune) for viola and piano.

Then I will guess Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale (1941), viola and clarinet.
