two reasons, it needs orchestra for all the colors. the beginning of the 4th movement sounds like a joke on the pianos. the begining of the 1st movement, with long sustained D's with changing colors just doesn't work on piano.
2nd reason, the pianist are bad. no sensitivity. they just play the notes. also the piano equal temeperedness gets in the way for me. the orchestras pitch is more variable.

That one was the version with the butterflies. I like the visual on that one.

Now I'm waiting for the "Pines of Rome" with the flying whales.

Is it me?

I love Mozart's Requiem... but you know I am hearing it a bit too much of these days.... I think I am sufficiently sick of it to request a repeated playing of Hector the Hero.. Selma? Did you say something? :P

I'm not sure how many of your managed to hear it, but W.Carlos' (abridged) version of the 4th movement of LvB's 9th was the funniest thing I've ever heard. :rotfl:

Well then Nav, you'll find it even funnier that it is this movie and this soundtrack that got me intrigued and interested in Beethoven, and thus his music, and now I'm a Classical Music junkie! :flex:

Wow...

I wasn't sure if it was the name of an album or a film.

Sigh... :( Aaron's Un Sueno En La Floresta by Agustin Barrios Mangore. It is my favourite. He played it so well.

I'm enjoying the brass selections - perhaps it could be a regular feature. Brazen Temptation, or some such?

Nice choice... Elgar....

Hijack alert: Can anyone play a Harp? I am rather interested in taking a few lessons just because I am intrigued by it.

Chopin's Andante Spianato & Grande Polonaise brillante in E flat major Op.22. Twice in 3 days... Life is good! 8) ....Now if only we could get the non-orchestral version by Rubinstein or Kempff, or Horowitz? Or maybe someone is familiar with a newer version that's as good as those? :deal:
