Bolero just played. The visual today was that annoying MS Word paperclip, an entire batallion of him, marching around in block formation.

I like that a lot better than him giving me "helpful hints" and changing my spelling and grammar to what he thinks I meant. He's cute marching around with a whole lot of clones. Play Bolero again!

Selma....you are TOO funny All I ever think of is "10", which was hilarious...too bad that Dudley Moore is no longer with us.

As to "repetitive" music, I have always felt that way about the Passacaglia. While the piece does intertwine many variations, the basic 8 bar theme kinda grinds on you after a while. (Gee, does that make Bach an "organ grinder"?)

Today, it was a trio of Geico geckos, sweetly dressed in tulle and chiffon. The wind came up, the chiffon blew and the tulle drifted and tattered, and at the end of Bolero, the geckos abandoned the stage in a litter of teeny fabric scraps and shreds.

Oddly, the tulle tutus are more attractive after they've been altered into grass hula skirt configuration. At least on lizards.

On CBC Radio 2, a classical music station I listen to on my drive to work, they have a weekly contest called the "Cage Match", where they play two similarly themed works, and then you get to vote on which of the two you prefer.

Well, I just looked at the results of previous "cage matches", and there was one called an "elimination cage match", where you could eliminate a work from the CBC Radio 2 playlist until a certain time (until June in this case).

The two works in the elimination cage match were Pachelbel's Canon, and Ravel's Bolero. Bolero lost, and is eliminated from the playlist 'till June!

Ok, I wasn't sure what you meant. Yes, it would just be named "Chamber match", but it could be a choice between 2 symphonies, concertos, operas, sonatas, etc.
