What is an RSS feed?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. With a special RSS reader, you an subscribe to one of the various RSS feeds and podcasts that WCCC offers and get updates whenever we make changes to the feed. Many different programs exist that read RSS feeds and newer browsers support feeds directly.
Internet Explorer 7
1) Click on the orange RSS icon in the tool bar, usually on the right side of the window.
2) The RSS feed should appear in your browser with a yellow box at the top containing the title and a link to subscribe. Click the subscription link.
3) You'll see a dialog box open up asking you to choose a title for the link and a folder to save it in. You can leave the information as it is unless you want to customize it. Click OK when you're finished.
4) To view your feeds, click the Favorites Center star in the upper left corner of your browser to display your favorites. Click on the Feeds button if you saved our RSS feed in that folder and you should see all of your subscriptions listed. IE checks the feeds periodically for new information and if it finds something, the feed title will appear bold. Simply click on it to read.
Fire Fox
1) Click on the orange RSS icon on the right inside the address bar.
2) A dialog box should oipen asking you where you want to save the feed. If you accept the default, a new button will appear on the bookmark toolbar that you can glance at quickly for updated information.
3) To view the feed, click on the link you created on the toolbar and select one of the items from the list.
